Reflection about Daniel Luna and his art

For the field trip, our class went to Museo the Americana. At that museum, we saw art from local artist in Denver, Daniel Luna. His style is very modern but also very classic. So his art has a power to provoke our one memory. He claimed magic realism which means that he wants to make people who see his art thinking not for his purpose, but their own memory and feeling. It was very interesting for me. I like to see hyper realism art because their perfect touch makes me think more. I think that Daniel Luna’s purpose also my favorite style. Another interesting point of his art is that he tried drawing at many different place and object. He used poetry, and torso. These kinds of objects have their own dynamic and unique wave so it make possible to build his art more lively. I think he really enjoy drawing. His arts are active and alive.

My one of favorite art is ‘the checker’. The reason is simple. The picture shows two ideal checker players. These two checkers may be my favorite artists. Georgia O'Keeffe and Frida Kahlo was the greatest female artist at early age of 1990. This art’s main color is almost black but it looks warm because middle of art has a campfire. And there are two women. They seem like playing chess. Frida looks like winner in this chess game and her face is glowing however, another checker player, Georgia’s face is very serious. She looks sad. So, I think Daniel Luna prefers Kahlo that O’Keeffe but I love both. Also, I like Daniel’s style which uses some old, historical things to make new things. I like to use old thing for my own art. It provokes nostalgia for me.
